Hunter Carpenter is a Partner of the firm.

Prior to joining RedBird, Hunter spent the majority of his career working for The Stephens Group, a private equity firm investing the capital of the Arkansas based Stephens family, one of America’s longest tenured private equity investors. During his time at The Stephens Group, Hunter helped launch the company as a stand-alone private equity firm, continuing the family’s extensive history of direct principal investing.

Hunter currently sits on several boards across the RedBird investment portfolio, including (i) Aethon United, one of the largest independent upstream and midstream natural gas producers in the Haynesville Shale; (ii) FireBird Energy, a Western Midland Basin oil company; (iii) Four Corners Petroleum, a Colorado-based oil and gas company that acquires, operates, and develops crude oil producing acreage on the Central Basin Platform in the Permian Basin; (iv) Lambda Energy, an oil and gas company focused on acquiring and developing assets in the Michigan basin; (v) Majority Strategies, a direct-to-consumer advertising and marketing business; (vi) Tally Energy Services, a buy-and-build oilfield service company focused on fit-for-purpose solutions for shale producers; (vii) Perdure Petroleum, an oil and gas company that acquires, operates, and develops crude oil producing acreage primarily in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle; and (viii) Zenith Shipping, a portfolio of product tankers and dry bulk shipping vessels.

Hunter received both his B.A. and Master’s degree in Accounting from The University of Mississippi, as well as a J.D. from The University of Mississippi Law School. Hunter serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee for the University’s endowment and is a board member of the University’s private foundation.
