Patrick LaValley is a Managing Director of the Firm and focuses on investment opportunities in the Sports, Media, and Entertainment sectors.
In his current role, Patrick is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities and overseeing existing portfolio companies. He is actively involved in the Firm’s investments in Alpine Racing and Skydance Media.
Prior to joining RedBird, Patrick was a leader of the Media vertical at Crestview Partners, where he focused on control and structured equity investments. Patrick served as a director of various corporate boards, including TenCate, ICM Partners, Stellar Sports, The Gersh Agency, Viad Corp (NYSE: VVI) and Elo Touch Solutions. Patrick’s most recent investments include the corporate carveout, global transformation and sale of TenCate—the world’s largest sports surfaces business—to Leonard Green & Partners in 2023. Patrick also co-led the recapitalization, global growth, and sale of ICM Partners to Creative Artists Agency in 2022. Patrick spent the first decade of his career at Morgan Stanley, where he started in the Investment Banking Division and most recently served as a Vice President of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners.
Philanthropically, Patrick serves as a director of Miles for Maribeth, a cancer patient and caregiver support organization, and as an alumni board council member of SUNY Westchester Community College.
Patrick received a B.S. in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
