Compass Datacenters Names Adil Attlassy As CTO
Compass Datacenters has named Adil Attlassy as Chief Technology Officer, a new role at the company, in which he will be a leading force in the way Compass designs its solutions and utilizes emerging technologies to meet customer needs. Attlassy will have the holistic responsibility for all elements of Compass’ wholesale data center solutions from land site development through operations of completed facilities.
Attlassy is widely respected as a thought leader in IT infrastructure who has been at the forefront of data center trends over the past two decades. Attlassy joins Compass after serving in an advisory role for the company. In his most recent corporate position, Attlassy served as the General Manager of Global Site & Network Acquisition for Microsoft. Prior to his Microsoft tenure, he served as the Chief Development Officer for IO. In that role, he was directly responsible for global site selection and development, and he oversaw the company’s data center procurement and supply chain engagement. Prior to joining IO, Attlassy held executive positions with Digital Realty Trust in the U.S., the U.K. and Singapore. He received a DUT from Institut Universitaire de Technologie, Mulhouse, France, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.
“Adil has unparalleled experience working for high-growth companies that are scaling rapidly in the data center space. He fits perfectly into the culture of Compass, and I’m thrilled to have him as a part of our team,” said Chris Crosby, CEO of Compass Datacenters. “Many of us have had the privilege of working with him over the years, and his experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand. It is a pleasure to hand over the technical reins to Adil and watch him take our vision to the next level.”
“The future of Compass Datacenters is incredibly bright because of the outstanding team it has assembled, its compelling vision for data center solutions along the entire core to edge continuum, and the momentum the company has already built,” said Adil. “I’ve enjoyed working alongside members of the Compass team in the past, and because of that I knew this would be a great fit for my skillset. Compass’ unique approach, strong culture and growth made this a tremendous opportunity.”
