Neil is a Managing Director at RedBird Capital Partners and is establishing the Firm’s London office.
He is a seasoned media, sports, and technology executive, having held key positions over the past 25 years at Warner Bros. Discovery, Google and YouTube, BBC Studios and Sky.
Most recently he was Group President and CFO, CNN Worldwide and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports. He was previously CFO/COO, Global Streaming at Discovery, and CFO for Discovery’s international businesses across Latin America, Asia Pacific and EMEA, including Eurosport.
His previous roles have included serving as CFO for Google and YouTube in EMEA, and Group CFO at BBC Studios, the international and commercial arm of the BBC. He held several senior finance and strategy positions at Sky in the UK, including Deputy CFO and Director of Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, and Treasury.
Neil started his career at Price Waterhouse, after graduating with an MA from Oxford University. He was also subsequently a banker at Goldman Sachs in London, in the TMT and Financing Groups. In 2009, he was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.
In 2014 he was appointed by the UK’s Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport as an Independent Member of the Board of UK Sport, the Government’s strategic body for Olympic Sport, which invests in Britain’s best sports and athletes to deliver Olympic and Paralympic medals. He was also Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Major Events Panel. He is a former member of the Great Britain Rowing Team and was a gold medalist at the World Rowing Championships.
He is currently a member of the Board and Management Committee of Henley Royal Regatta, the world’s oldest, and pre-eminent, international rowing event. He is a Governor and Board Member of the Courtauld Institute of Art, a world class center for the study of Art History and one of London’s major galleries, where he also serves as Chairman of the Finance, Strategy and Operations Committee and as a member of the Governance, Nominations and Remuneration Committee.
