Julia Wittlin is a Partner at RedBird Capital Partners, where she focuses on the Firm’s Sports, Media and Entertainment investments and leads RedBird’s Miami office.
Julia oversees RedBird’s investment activities across sports and emerging growth, with a focus on identifying and backing innovative businesses, technologies and platforms shaping the future of the global sports ecosystem. She is responsible for the Firm’s investments in leading sports organizations, including Fenway Sports Group and Alpine Formula 1 Team amongst others, and plays a key role in developing RedBird’s investment strategy across emerging opportunities such as collegiate athletics and next-generation sports platforms. Working closely with portfolio company management teams, Julia helps drive long-term value creation, strategic growth, and operational excellence.
Prior to joining RedBird, Julia spent 15 years at BlackRock. Most recently, she served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager within BlackRock Alternative Investors, where she developed and led the team’s growth equity investment strategy, deploying more than $500 million across high-growth companies. Her investment track record includes category-defining businesses such as HashiCorp, Rivian, Epic Games, Attentive, and Databricks.
Julia has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal as a Woman to Watch in Private Equity and is a frequent speaker on the intersection of private capital, technology, and sports. She has authored several white papers on private equity and private markets and serves on the steering committee of the Southeast chapter of WAVE (Women’s Association of Venture & Equity), where she mentors and supports the next generation of investment professionals.
Julia received a B.A. from the University of Rochester and holds the CFA, CAIA, and FRM designations.
